I started my fitness journey when I was 15 years old. Starting out I was “skinny-fat” -as I call it, basically, not big enough for people to notice that I was a higher body fat %. I remember caliper testing out at 21.2% body fat, I was 160 lbs at 5’10’’. I absolutely hated where I was. I wouldn’t even take my shirt off to go swimming. I tried all of the exercises classes in school, to no avail, because they missed a portion of the puzzle – nutrition.
I began reading everything about nutrition, exercise, diet and bodybuilding I could find online. I read as many books as I could get my hands on. Knowledge is power and I refused to remain ignorant about such an important topic; my health. Within the first six months I had shaved my body fat down to 6.1%. I was hooked on the lifestyle of fitness. Now, however, I had insufficient muscle mass as I was sitting around 150 lbs.
It was time for me to go the other direction and put on some muscle. Again, I began to expand my knowledge and I tried numerous different training philosophies and diet approaches over the years. Slowly but surely acquiring many pounds of muscle and a physique I was proud of. I’ve competed in bodybuilding since 2010. I’ve had a few injuries along the way but still have managed to win the Bodybuilding Overall as a Heavyweight at 2013 Seven Feathers, 2015 Pacific Coast Cup, and even the 2015 Emerald Cup.
I’ve had many accomplishments in the fitness industry, bodybuilding, and powerlifting. I was even voted “Top Fitness Trainer” by The Columbian Newspaper. I’m also on the featured athletes page of NPC Oregon which can be seen
I have a wide variety of training and diet methodologies to insure you reach your goals. I don’t have a one size fits all program, since not everything works for everyone the same. I have the knowledge, and in-the-trench experience of what it takes to become a coach and a competitor. This is my passion and I take extreme pride in all of my clients and what I do. I don’t settle for no results, if your putting in the effort and following my program you will get results.
I became a personal trainer in 2008 for a larger “box gym,” quickly rising to the top of the company and becoming the top trainer in the region. I quickly realized there was more to my skills than where this vehicle (box gym) was going to take me. Fast forward to today – I currently train out of Battle Ground Fitness (www.bgfitclub.com) for “in person” personal training as well as coaching clients online. I train all types- those looking to get into shape, lose a few pounds, gain some muscle, and those looking to lean and tone up. I do all of this, as well as my main passion, which is taking people to the next level; competition shape.
I prefer a “lead from the front” approach to my training, so keeping up on current ideas and philosophies is something I strive to do. I don’t just apply this to myself, but my clients as well. This can be seen from my testimonials
